Rosemead is keen to use technology to enable the smooth running of a patient's NHS journey. Here are some of the ways we are using technology to help you.
  • Referral management

In keeping with national standards, the patient's NHS Number is the primary identifier in all NHS clinical correspondence issued by the practice.

  • Electronic appointment booking

We offer the facility for all patients over the age of 18 who have their own email address to book, view, amend, cancel and print a number of appointments online.

  • Online booking of repeat prescriptions

We offer the facility for all patients who wish to order online, view and print a list of their repeat prescriptions for necessary drugs, medicines or appliances.

  • Interoperable records/Summary Care Record.

Government initiatives require practices to enable automated uploads of any changes to a patient’s summary information, at least on a daily basis to the Summary Care Record. Having your Summary Care Record available will help anyone treating you without your full medical record.  They will have access to information about any medication you may be taking and any drugs that you have a recorded allergy or sensitivity to. Your full medical record is not available to them. For example, accident and emergency units may have access to your up to date medications and allergies.

However, if you do not want your medical records to be available in this way then you will need to let us know so that we can update your record.  You can do this via the ‘opt out form’ online or at the surgery.

  • GP2GP record transfers

It is very important that you are registered with a doctor at all times.  If you leave your GP and register with a new GP, your medical records will be removed from your previous doctor and forwarded on to your new GP via NHS England.  It can take several weeks for your paper records to reach your new surgery.  With GP to GP record transfers, your electronic record is transferred to your new practice much sooner.

  • Patient access to their GP record

If you would like access to your current medication, allergies and immunisation history, please ask at Reception. If you are currently registered for on-line appointments, we are able to give you access to these aspects of your medical record. If you do not currently have on-line access, please bring 2 forms of ID (one to be photographic) and we will generate a password for you.

  • Patient privacy

We follow national NHS guidance on all uses of personal and confidential data. Further information is available from the Data Protection Act, NHS Constitution & Care Record Guarantee. More information is available in Patient Health Records leaflet.
