Temporary Residents

Rosemead Surgery is open to eligible NHS patients who wish to register with us. All information given to the practice is treated as confidential and would only be disclosed within the legal requirements of the Data Protection Act. The practice policy is to accept any eligible person and not to discriminate against anyone, regardless of any pre-existing health conditions, required treatment, age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, disability, sexual orientation or gender identity.

If you are ill whilst away from home or if you are not registered with a doctor but need to see one, you can receive emergency treatment with us for 14 days. After 14 days you will need to register as a temporary or permanent patient.

You can be registered as a temporary patient for up to three months. This will allow you to be on our practice list and still remain a patient of your permanent GP. After three months you will have to re-register as a temporary patient or permanently register with us.

To register as a temporary patient simply contact us. We do not have to accept you as a temporary patient although we do have an obligation to offer emergency treatment.

PLEASE NOTE: You cannot register as a temporary patient in the town or area where you are already registered. If you are within one hour's travel from your normal GP we are not obliged to see you, unless it is "Immediate and Necessary" (i.e.) a clinical emergency.
